This Privacy Policy explains how Pato Apps LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you use the PureScore mobile application and related services.
Information We Collect
- Account information, such as your Firebase-authenticated user ID and sign-in details if you create an account.
- Content you provide, including saved lists, favorites, manual submissions, scanned barcodes, captured product photos, and ingredient photos you choose to upload.
- Search and app activity information, such as searches, viewed products, and subscription status.
- Subscription information processed through RevenueCat and Apple to determine whether you have access to PureScore Premium.
- Device and analytics information made available through Apple, Firebase, and other SDKs used to operate, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
How We Use Information
- To provide product search, scoring, scanning, saved lists, and account features.
- To process scans, image-based submissions, and ingredient analysis.
- To manage subscriptions, restore purchases, and verify premium entitlement access.
- To improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.
- To detect abuse, secure the service, and comply with legal obligations.
How Product Scanning and Image Submission Works
If you choose to scan a barcode, take a product photo, or submit an ingredients image, that information may be processed by our backend providers to identify products, analyze content, and return results inside the app. Please do not upload sensitive personal information in photos.
Third-Party Services
PureScore uses third-party providers to operate key parts of the app, including services such as Firebase, Algolia, RevenueCat, Apple in-app purchase infrastructure, and image or AI-related processing providers used for scan and submission features. These services may process information on our behalf in accordance with their own privacy terms and applicable agreements.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app, process subscriptions, host data, analyze scans, provide search, authenticate users, store uploaded content, or comply with legal requirements.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain account functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Your Choices
- You may choose not to create an account, though some features may be unavailable.
- You may avoid using scan and image upload features if you do not want to submit photos or barcode data.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
Children's Privacy
PureScore is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update means the updated policy applies.
